A couple of years ago, I was made aware of the food security issues in our neighborhood. I had no idea that we had kids in our schools that didn't have enough food to ear, and while there are programs to help feed them lunch during the school year, they didn't have that support during the school breaks, or for siblings at home not yet in the school system.
We wanted to do something for the families, kids, neighbors, elderly that are going through hard times and could use a little extra.
A friend made a box out of scraps, we painted it and were open for business! We filled the box and within hours it was empty. Such mixed emotions, sad that this is needed, and grateful that the box was being used.
Over the last 3 years there has been so much support from our neighborhood. Thank You!
